Understanding Graphs in Physics

Graphical Interpretation is critical for entrance exams. I think  Hita. Gangineni also needs to focus on this area.

  1. Hita’s prep for IIT JEE reminds me of my feeble attempt at this exam back in 1987 @ Madras Brilliant Tutorials.
  2. Many students find it difficult to connect their concepts of Maths to use in Physics.
  3. Dora is an expert at this and is very creative in use of mathematical intution in solving Physics problems.

NSEP 2014-15, Some differences in KEY

I think nsep 2014-15 is bound to raise some difference of opinion in few questions due to its 70 MCQs and a somewhat tricky nature.

  1. We found some differences with FIITJEE solutions available here.
  2. Q.No 66 in the Diode Circuit the diode does not clip the positive half cycle as it becomes reverse biased and the open circuit produces the same o/p wave form.
  3. Negative half cycle Diode becomes short circuited and acts as a Rectifier. Therefore the correct answer (a),(c),(d)
  4. FIITJEE identifies it as a,b,c,d
  5. We have to wait till Resonance Key today for a second Opinion and IAPT Key on Dec 2, for a final opinion.

Question Paper NSEP 2014-15

NSEP 2014-15 surprised many students including Gangineni Hita.

  1. IAPT removed the Part 2 subjective questions.
  2. Increased the no of objective questions to Seventy from around 35.
  3. Involves lot of calculations rather than generalized form.
  4. Touched many experimental aspects like IPhO Model.
  5. I surmise the popularity of NSEP is increasing and places lot of challenge on question paper setters.
  6. 7 questions on potentiometer surprised me as students from AP may not have emphasised these topics.
